PlatformPay.io I-Con 2025 Wrap Up

PlatformPay.io I-Con 2025 Wrap Up

i-Con in Limassol was great. The best way we can describe it is: you blink, and suddenly it’s the last day and your calendar is full of follow-ups.

This year, i-Con ran May 29–30, 2025 at City of Dreams Mediterranean in Limassol, Cyprus. PlatformPay.io was there at Booth MO16, with Michael Maurer, Head of Business Development, on-site.

The days had that classic i-Con rhythm: mornings start off feeling calm, and then it quickly shifts into back-to-back introductions, quick check-ins that turn into longer conversations, and plenty of “we should definitely talk after the event” moments. Not every conversation was the right fit for us, but the right ones had substance, and those are the ones that made the event count.

i-Con’s overall energy was exactly what you’d expect: international crowd, fast-moving conversations, and a strong “let’s make things happen this week” mindset. The event itself pointed to a fully booked hall and 100+ international companies attending, and it definitely felt like one of those weeks where everyone is in the same place at the same time.

At the same time, the event leaned heavily toward gaming and adult, which are not really our main focus. We went in looking specifically for merchants and partners in nutra and e-commerce, and there were still quite a few worthwhile conversations in those areas. A few in particular really stood out, and those made the event especially valuable for us.

For us, the value of being there was less about trying to force a perfect fit out of every meeting and more about being present, listening, and getting a clearer real-time pulse on what merchants and partners are dealing with right now. That kind of input is useful because it helps us understand where the market is moving, where the friction points are, and what businesses are actually prioritizing when it comes to payments and support.

There were also a number of networking events throughout the week that helped extend conversations beyond the booth floor. Those settings were useful not just socially, but professionally too. A lot of the better discussions happened in a more relaxed environment, where people were more candid about what is actually happening inside their business and what they are looking for in a partner. Even the side events and some of the more lifestyle-driven extras, including yacht-style events and cruises, still played a role in keeping conversations going outside the main conference flow.

One thing that stood out from the week was that even in a conference environment that was not centered on our core verticals, there was still plenty of overlap in the types of challenges businesses are facing. Conversations around payments, approval rates, reliability, flexibility, and long-term support came up again and again. That made the event worthwhile, because even when a lead is not an immediate fit, the broader market insight still is.

If you met us at our Booth, thank you for the time and the good energy. And if we did not get a chance to connect, no stress  i-Con tends to create a lot of almost-meetings. The important part is picking those conversations back up after the event.
